CCBM vs Hand Laminating:
Cost Reduction. We are able to reduce costs by reducing time spent on each part.
Improved Quality. CCBM ensures there is no air bubbles, parts weigh less and there is even thickness. This reduces rework and secondary finishing.
Reduced Training. New hand laminators need a lot of training to become effective, whilst the training needed for CCBM is short and simple.
Environmental Aspects. There are no VOC emissions associated with this method. Material wastage is significantly reduced. The staff are not exposed to resins.
Craft Fibreglass is the agent for Closed Cavity Bag Moulding (CCBM) a process developed in the United States of America, to make the manufacture of fibreglass products more efficient.
Using this method we were able to create a cleaner and healthier working environment for our workforce.
The versatility of the technology and how it can change an operation is shown by this boat hull (photograph below) which was manufactured in 4 hours including all the stringers and transom. If hand laid it would take approximatley 12 hours.
Please give us a call, email or fax if you have any further enquiries regarding our CCBM technology.
