Bus Projects

Craft Fibreglass manufactures a wide range of Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) parts for Australia’s leading bus company which designs and produces buses for the NSW State Transit Authority (STA) as well as projects for the Victoria, South Australia and Queensland governments and many private bus and coach companies. Craft produces both interior and exterior panels as well as looking after all of their replacement parts.

Trains

Building strong partnerships with many of the train companies in Sydney and Australia wide, we pride ourselves on being the fibreglass manufacturer with the finest track record for quality. 

PURD Train:

We manufactured fibreglass parts for the PURD Train project.

Part of this project was to successfully manufacture cab fronts, using the CCBM technology.

With a surface area of 20m2 and laminate thickness of 7mm, it makes one of the largest CCBM parts to be produced in Australia.

Craft Fibreglass Composites not only manufactured the Cab Front but also a wide variety of interior and exterior panels for the train.

These included complex panels such as the 4 metre long window panels and the weathershields. 

Cairns Tilt Train:

Craft Fibreglass Composites manufactured the Cab Fronts and other parts for the high speed CairnsTilt Train project.

This train was designed and built to withstand the pressures and loads of high speeds as well as the potential for missile impact.

As in all train projects, mass had also to be minimised which Craft was able to achieve.

Hunter Rail Project:

Craft Fibreglass Composites is supplying over 120 interior parts for the Hunter Rail Project. Large numbers of very complex parts including the Drivers Console, Weather shields, handrail panels, storage panels, destination indicators, plinths, ceiling panels as well as the quantity window panels were produced for this project.

OSCAR Project:

We manufactured panels using closed cavity bag moulding system for the OSCAR project. This included infusing larger, (4 square metres) structural panels, up to 15mm thick, with many layers of reinforcement and a highly filled resin system to pass fire and smoke requirements.

Other Train Projects:

We manufactured the majority of the panels (interior and exterior) for the Avonlea, and Prospector projects as well as repairing panels for United Group Rail and Main Train.
